Want to win £300 and get creative? Are you between the ages of 11-25? Do you live in the UK?

If so, the Youth and Community Research Group from Manchester Metropolitan University are looking for young people to develop an image depicting what youth and community means to them for our university research group.

The image can be developed via any means you like; you might want to use photography, digital imagery, drawing, painting or collating objects in some creative and fun way – it’s completely up to you!

What you need to know! 

• We can’t accept any images that include or reveal people’s or organisation’s identity in any way since they may not know what you are using their image and any identifiable data for. 

• You need to be aged between 11 and 25 years old and live in the UK to enter. 

• We’re looking for original works only, meaning copies of pre-existing artwork or AI generated submissions will not be accepted. 

• You will be notified about your winning status in late September via email. 

• You will keep the copyright for your image and will be accredited with the image development. 

• If you win, we will invite you to take part in a 30-minute semi-structured interview via a platform you feel comfortable with (maybe zoom, Microsoft teams or phone) to discuss what your image is about, how you came to develop it, as well as telling us a little bit about yourself.  

• There are prizes up for grabs, FIRST PRIZE gets £300 paid via love2shop vouchers. We’ll also select two runner ups who will each receive an £100 voucher! 

• The winning image(s) and information about yourself you have chosen to share will be used for our research group website and other Youth and Community Research Group marketing and information purposes. 

• A panel will review the images and decide on the winning three. 

• All images (and related details) that are sent will be kept electronically on a password protected system and all information regarding those images that have not been selected will be deleted within 6 months of receipt. 

• Please submit your image as a JPEG, PNG or PDF file via email attachment along with the form below.

Entries need to be emailed to lily.skourides@stu.mmu.ac.uk  by 14^th August 2026.
